The MarbleTones

The MarbleTones is the fifties style bluesband based in the Netherlands that has been rocking the house at many venues and festivals, from Germany to the San Francisco Bay Area (USA) and from Finland to Italy.

Singer bass player Anne-Maarten ‘ Hills’ van Heuvelen entertains the audience while laying down a solid groove. Harmonica player Ben ‘The Thumb’ Bouman plays mad and virtuoso solo’s while jumping around and tube amp professor A.J. Folkerts plays some steady guitar and is all about the tasteful solo’s. The newest member of the band is drummer Bert de Jonge who is a veteran in the blues scene touring with many American blues artists throughout Europe.

The MarbleTones were founded in 2001 and toured in the UK, Germany, Belgium, Finland and even the USA. The foursome combine the best of blues swing and grooving soul like blues songs from the likes of Little Walter and Lazy Lester.

The MerbleTones put out three albums. They burst onto the blues scene with ‘ Live at the Katoenclub’ wich was recorded on a icy winters night in 2001. The album was released early the following year and got some great reviews. They followed up with the studio album ‘Black Coffee’ in 2004 with mostly original tracks. One of them is ‘Interstate 95’ which is still on the setlist today. The thrid album ‘ The Big Five’ was a combination of live and studio recordings.
