“Anne-Maarten taught me valuable lessons about turning ideas into products, work ethic, perseverance and a sense of realism in carrying out vision. During our talent development trajectory with Productiehuis Oost Nederland, Anne-Maarten coached my band and I to position ourselves in the Dutch music market and guided us through recording a full length album and building a well-thought-out live-show. Next to that he managed to book a whopping 27 shows for our Popronde tour, produced several festival shows for the band and got us on national radio and television.” Jan Terlouw Jr about the project Jan Terlouw Junior & The Nightclub

Band coaching
Do you want your band to sound better? Do you have the feeling you are stuck as a band? Have you hit that glass ceiling musically or performance wise? Anne-Maarten has done over three thousand shows and has learned from experience and other coaches. A band is a group of people that have to interact with each other and with the audience. It can be very difficult to get a good view on your own musical and stage performance. A coach can help with that. Anne-Maarten has the philosophy that every band has strengts and weaknesses. Build those strenghts! Tackle the weaknesses! And most of all, enjoy making music and being on stage!
Knarsetand
A ten piece band mixing electronics and world music, from start to finished album.
Martijn Holtslag aka Knars came to Productiehuis Oost Nederland through a project for producers of electronic music called NEW. He had the idea of mixing dub step and drum ‘n bass with reggae, ska and klezmer music. Holtslag had a handfull of unfinished ideas and a hope to conquer the world.
The plan was to make an album and start touring with a live band. As Anne-Maarten was called in, there were some musicians that wanted to partake in the project that was to become Knarsetand. There were some ideas how to use electronics in the band sound. And there were the ideas for songs.
The first step was to sit down with Knars and make the ideas into usable songs for a band. The songs were fine tuned with the band members. There were some changes in the line up. Anne-Maarten helped in using the electronic dub step sounds without putting everything to a backing tape. Knarsetand became a live band with only a click track to keep the synths in sync and thus giving it a good basis for the Ska, Reggae, Klezmer, Pop and Rock influences.
With the songs finished and the band knowing which parts to play it was time to hit the studio. Under the guidance of Elio Debets at the Delta Beats Studio, Martijn Holtslag took his first steps into a real studio to record his debut album which was to become My Escape. The album was released and the band did a summer festival tour.
