Young Wood ‘n Hills

The trio Young Wood ‘n Hills play transatlantic jazz roots rock. The exciting combination of Chicago blues, jazz and rock with some reggae and New Orleans grooves. They started out doing gigs under the guise of the Hills Blues Collective covering traditional songs at bars and festivals. The band is now in the proces of writing and recording original songs.

Young Wood ‘n Hills are Bert de Jonge on drums, also drummer for the Etta James experience and the MarbleTones. De Jonge is a musical scholar and seasoned drummer playing for decades and backing American artists during European tours. He also has Jazz under the belt with the Pulz Quintet and world music. Gitarist with the band is Marc van Hout, also a seasoned player, music teacher and songwriter for The Living Room Heroes. Anne-Maarten ‘Hills’ van Heuvelen completes the band as singer and bass player. Another experienced musician known for his world music band NO blues, blues rock trio Black Top and jazz Trio Moustache. He also toured extensively with his own bands and backing American artists touring in Europe such as Tracy Bonham.

Young Wood ‘n Hills is an exciting musical trio that play originals and traditionals from the likes of the Allman Brothers and Miles Davis with plenty ofroom for Improvisation on the spot. True music from the heart and soul!
